Ode to My Deco: In the Pink!

Today in Part Three in my series Ode to Domino's My Deco Files I am thinking pink. I like pink mixed with lots of bright whites, and in small doses here and there. And a room infused with lots of pink can be dramatic and daring. I found some of my favorite examples of pink decor in Domino's My Deco Files and found some wonderful images. Once again, the Domino site says it's keeping the Deco Files up a few more weeks, in order to give you time to retrieve images, so download to your hearts content, but I think time is sadly running out, so you might want to make storing away Domino's My Deco Files images a priority.

Ode to My Deco: What's on Your Shelf?

Well, I'm still at it...downloading imagery from Domino's My Deco Files, trying to glean any and all inspiration I can from their files until they finally fade away forever. I love my books, and since I am a bit of a book junkie, I have an overabundance of them. I've always wanted some built-in bookcases and dream of that day I have them floor to ceiling filled with all my favorite literary friends. I organize my books by spine color, partially because of my OCD, but also because I truly believe they look cleaner and more organized that way, and also because being a pretty visual person, I remember my books by the color of their spines and can find them much easier when I know where it is I stuck them! Domino's My Deco Files were filled with my dream bookcases and shelving, so in installment twelve (the decorating dozen!) of my Ode to Domino's My Deco Files, I bring you bookcases!

Ode to My Deco: Mantel Mania.

In Numero Ocho of my Ode to My Domino's My Deco, let's get toasty! I recently purchased a vintage 1900's Victorian fireplace mantel (yet to be installed in my bedroom...photos to come!) from Ohmega Salvage Yard in Berkeley. So, I've been hot on the hunt of just how to treat this faux fireplace. So, off I went to Domino's My Deco Files in search of some inspiration, and found plenty! I love the idea of an architectural, white mantel perched dramatically against a dark, richly colored wall. And then again, you know me, I love lots of that Scandinavian white on white, and that's probably the direction I'm headed. Among the Deco Files, I found lots of examples of both, and some other super stylish looks in between. Here's a look.
