Our Lady of The Sleeping Saints

This is my Our Lady of The Sleeping Saints church bed. It's a holy place I go to rest my weary mind each night. Well, not really, but my bedroom came complete with these large, church-like, gothic stained glass windows. It's actually not something I would outright choose for myself, my taste leans more towards mid-century modern. But, when given architectural features as prominent as this, I feel it's best to play them up, rather than try and ignore them. Thus, the church bed. I kind of went with a Moroccan theme here, adding colorful pillows on a low platform style bed, floor pillows, colored votives and paper lanterns. I also have a slight Asian theme thrown in, including a pink spotted orchid (not the botanically correct terminology) and a cool Chinese figurine I bought at an unusual antique store in Venice, Italy, of all places. Anyway, my point is, if you've got unusual moldings, nooks, or odd little spaces you should perhaps enhance and highlight them and make them little shrines of your unique, individual self.
