A Special Thanks.

I just wanted to say a special thank you for the article Ahn-Minh wrote about my apartment for the San Francisco Chronicle. Anh-Minh wrote a very flattering article about my bargain hunting and flea marketing. Who knew being a junk collector could sound so nice? I haven't been in the newspaper since I was a flower girl at the age of five, so the attention for doing what I love was very gratifying and inspiring. It just makes me want to be a better blogger! Thanks so much for this, Ahn-Minh. And congratulations to you, too for having your article on the front cover of Home & Garden! For more of Ahn-Minh's writings and musings on the world of interior design, check out her blog.

Yeah for doing what we love!

The rest of the world is finding out about my favorite blogger! Congratulations on the article. I live in Sweden (moved here to work for IKEA), and the article inspired me to check out the local flea market that all the interior designers talk about. I generally don't have an eye for that kind of stuff, but maybe all these months of reading your blog changed that. We'll see! Thanks for your inspiration!

Hi Ginny - thanks so much for your comment. It's so cool to know there's someone in Sweden reading. Have fun at the flea market and just buy what you love - you can't go wrong! :)

victoria - i had a lot of fun touring your place and writing up this piece. i'm always so grateful to homeowners who allow me (a stranger to them) into their homes -- and trust me to do their place justice.

so i should be thanking you!

Congrats on the article! Can't believe you live in Herb Caen's old apartment (presumably before he married Ann)? What a great spot.
