Yesterday's Flea Market.

My friend Hilary and I went to the giant Alameda Flea Market yesterday and we both scored some great finds. She got an amazing painting (very Anthroplogie-looking) and funky little white metal-frame chair. I got some great vintage fabric and this vintage Chagall print. I really love it. My living room is getting whiter by the minute, so I love this new splash of color. I should have bought the accordian and the gnome, but I restrained myself.

Note: I looked up the Galarie Maeght and it is in the 7ème ARRONDISSEMENT, 42, rue du Bac, Paris, France. This world-famous gallery was founded by Aime Maeght in 1946. I think I may contact them to see if my poster is of any value. (I love it regardless, and, the print looks so much prettier in person!) Here is the Gallerie Maeght, Cannes, 1937. I love the internet when you can find this kind of back-story.

SUPER score with the Chagall print. Don't you get that amazing floating on air feeling when you nab something so perfect? I just float on air for ages!

Managed to get up to go for an hour and a half before I had to head into work. Unfortunately, that meant that I was only able to see 3/5 of it. Not to shabby though, picked up a few ties for a tie skirt I'm working on, a vintage looking candelabra and some mostly finished patchwork that I'm planning to make into back cushions for the chairs I bought at Mignonne.

I used to work in a high end art gallery and can tell you that this print is worth quite a bit. I think it retailed (in a very nice frame) between $1500-2500. Congrats!!!!

I believe this may be related to artist Marc Chagall - http://www.chagallkunst.com/home.asp . I live in Amsterdam and recognise the style. If original, it may be worth sentimental value plus some.
