Polkadots on Polk.

Polkadot Variety is this great little shop on Polk Street. It's the kinda place I run to when I need to grab a fun little gift, some great wrapping paper or when I need to decorate my cupcakes with something special. I did a whole collection from Polkadot's once that included clowns, Indians, army men, ballerinas, cowboys...you name your favorite miniature plastic cupcake topper, and I think they've got it. They got vintage typewriters, cool stationary and cards, and loads of kitschy, party favors, fun pencil cases, notepads, journals and cards. It's the ultimate mom & pop variety store.

I'm having trouble finding a link, but it's on Polk Street, between Washington and Clay Streets. You can't miss the woodland creatures just outside this cute little shop.

I love this store! I wish they had a website...I really want one of those deer planters...so cute. Oh well, next time I'm in beautiful San Francisco I guess.

Thanks for featuring this store. I live near this area and people never believe me when I tell them there are some great spots on the old Polk Strauss.

My sons loves this store and he always finds a goody when we go in. It is a great place to plan a kids old fashioned birthday party.

I want a deer planter and a lamb planter! That shop looks really cute. I wish we had those sort of places in Dublin.

I used to live on Polk st. (it's been 4 years) and don't remember seeing this. Is it new within the past few years? What is the cross street?

I don't know if she actually sells the planters, they are for decor. but i have seen these at the flea market for sure.

steph - the shop is fairly new. she was on pacific @ polk and moved to this space recently. before that, she worked at the Brown Bag on fillmore, which was amazing and I miss so much. this has the sme feeling, though.
