Not Your Mama's Trailer

I'd heard about this, but now it's here. Design Within Reach, may have created a trailer that actually is within reach. They have pulled out all the stops and created their very own airstream trailer. For just under $50,000, you too can drive away with this shiny home on wheels trailing behind you. Considering the way things have been going lately and the high cost of owning your own home in San Francisco, I may just have spring for one of these and hit the open road with Coop. You can blog from anywhere, right?

Airstream founder Wally Byam (I love that his name is Wally - it just fits!) had an idea for a travel trailer that moved like a stream of air, and in 1936, he introduced the Airstream. Now, DWR has teamed with architect-designer Chris Deam and has outfitted this home on wheels with their version of the works, and the modern interior has been updated with today's most durable materials. They even throw in two $400 Tripolina Chairs. However the $100 Pix Side Table you'll have to save up for - it's sold separately. Uh, what? Oh no, I may need to rethink this.

I love everything but the price. I think Targe should offer one.

I have always wanted an Airstream. I want to have a little travelling art gallery and just roam the country making and selling art. Ah, what a dream!

When the Target knockoff comes out, I'm buying it. There *will* be a Target knockoff - won't there? :)

Looks really cool, but you'll still have to park it at the RV Park with the other Winnebago's.

We have a 1966 24 ft. Airstream.
Purchased it for $7500. I re-floored it in Marmolum, and recovered the beds in micro fiber. We also had the exterior shined to a mirror finish.
Total cost around $12,000.See photos on my flickr site.We absolutly love it !
