Matte Stephens at Super7!

The very fabulous artwork of Matte Stephens will begin showing at the Super7 Store Wednesday, July 11. The show runs the month of July and it's a must-see. I love Matte's work and will be making a visit to see the 25 new paintings Super7 will have on display.

Matte, a very talented artist from Birmingham, Alabama, admits to being influenced by 1950s and early 1960s illustrators, jazz and old movies, which I can totally see. His images remind me of old album covers my parents had in their record collection, or maybe an illustrated version of Dick Van Dyke . Go check him out, and if you're not in the neighborhood, you can find more of Matte's work at his etsy shop. It'll be worth the visit!

The woman in the middle painting reminds me of Jane Jetson.

Took me long enough to put 2+2 together that this is the same Matte whose house is on Designsponge sneak peak! (Thanks to poppytalk I got it straight) The color and style of his artwork looks so much like his house, I should have realized.
