Up There, at Uppercase.

There's a new online shop from our fun neighbors to the north, Uppercase, out of Calgary, Canada. As well as having excellent taste in typefaces, they carry an unusual and really good collection of art books, including one entitled The Shatner Show, endorsed by none other than the Captain himself (my dad is gonna freak!). In addition to the over 76 fun-filled images inspired by the life and career of Mr. Shatner, the book includes quotes from Shatner, as well. I wonder if my favorite of his is there - "Live life like you're gonna die. Because you're gonna." Ahhh, Bill, bless his heart! I love him!

This is one cute little number, the Piu Piu Bird Magnet, a paper clip magnet that chirps
when you touch it (just think what the writers from The Office could do with that!).

There's loads of fun journals, paper goods, and really cool handmade notebooks
like the EclectoNote 275 - it sounds so, I don't know...so official! And Eclecto books
are made from a mix of found papers and rescued books. Nice!

Check out lots more from Uppercase, including some fantastic
artwork, and be sure and visit their online journal, too.

I couldn't resist! Some of their products are now headed to Paris. Sigh.

I would just like to say about the Piu Piu Paper Clip Bird magnets thingy.

Very. Annoying.

I sell these in my store and while they do well, children invariably pull out the little plastic tab that seperates the battery from its connection. These little birds can be so sensitive that the slightest vibration will dset them off, some times for upwards of 10 minutes of mechanized chirping.

Hey! 2 friends of mine did pieces in that Shatner Show (and therefore the book) It's great, and so fun to see so many different interpretations of the Captain!

O Shatner, here at McGill University he's famous as a graduate, we've even nicknamed a building after him (except the school doesn't officially recognize it)

I have one of those birdies! It makes a lot of noise, but has a piece of paper you can stick in its butt to make it be quiet when you get sick of the chirping. I bought a few in Paris and gave them as gifts, which were well received.
