Unexpected Guests: Paper Nest.

I am very late dropping in for a visit with fellow flickr member PaperNest today! Sorry y'all, but today was crazy and I had to go to the regular job instead of having my usual blog day. But, PaperNest, aka Annie, has allowed us a glimpse at her lovely home and garden in Baltimore, Maryland. Annie loves a good cup of coffee (in some really cute cups!), so pour yourself one too and take a peek at her pretty, vintage looking home. I love all the colors and the really homey feel. It looks to me like PaperNest and her family have an amazing bond, a strong sense of family history and have made a beautiful life there together!

Who is your favorite artist?
My daughter, the first time she made a figurative drawing.

Who do you admire?
My father, who is 97, loves life, and wants to make it to 100; and my mother-in-law, who was widowed and left with six kids under the age of 12, and raised them almost flawlessly.

What's the last great book you read?
Bread and Jam for Frances. The last great memoir I read was The Color of Water by James McBride.

What's your favorite film?
Map of the Human Heart.

If you could photograph anyone in the world, who might that be?
My mom when she was 18.

Who would you like to sit down to tea with?
Any of my great, great grandmothers.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Entourage.

What is your most treasured belonging?
A few pairs of scuffed baby shoes, worn by my brothers, that my mother never had enough money to have bronzed.

What do you despise?
Resin figurines, supermarket pantyhose, port-a-potties, and broken parking meters.

What's your favorite word?
"Mommy," when said by my daughter. "Coffee," when said by anyone.

What is your favorite outing?
Cranes Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts, followed by fried shrimp at Woodman's, Essex.

Hi neighbor ^_^ I just wanted to say that your "Unexpected Guests" idea and spreads are a sensational idea and I look forward to them. Wonderful photos for inspiration. Although not quite as polished, please drop by for a visit.

Bread and Jam For Frances is one of my favourite books of all time! I have mad respect for anyone who names it as a 'great book recently read'. Rad.

Utterly charming! The soft aqua throughout this spread is lovely (equally applicable to the color and the comments, I think). I would have coffee with Annie in Bawlmer any time. Sigh: Her home has the homey appeal of fresh-pressed vintage linen tea towel.
Thanks!--this a swell feature.

I thought Crane's Beach was my special place. And I don't even eat seafood and I love Woodman's.

Great site, from a new SF resident designer/artist from Boston via too many years stuck in LA.
