Friends and Neighbors: Emma's designblogg.

Sometimes our neighbors are much further away than you might realize. Such is the beauty of the Internet - it brings us all together, and much closer than what was once possible. This week I'd like to share a great post from Emma's designblogg, all the way from Stockholm, Sweden. I love Emma's blog and all the beautiful eye candy she posts and it's a blog I visit often for loads of inspiration. I just love her amazing Scandinavian design aesthetic.

I loved this week's post from Emma, At Home with Anne Black. Just look at this Danish porcelain designer's beautiful home in Copenhagen. I want white floors! I wonder what the landlord would do with that! Or, do with me if I just went and did it!? Thanks to Emma for sharing it with us.

Yep, pictures like this make me think "Oooh I want white floors!" too. I actually love how your dark floors 'ground' all the white and soft colours in your apartment though, Victoria. We'll be doing something (haven't decided what yet) with our floors soon and I often refer to pictures of your place when trying to make my mind up.

Yet another fabulous interior featuring the enviable Eames rocker!

Damn, those Scandinavians got it goin' on! Love me those white floors too and at least will be doing that in my studio soon! It feels so airy.
(V, I'll take your floors over my beige carpeting any day! Ugh!)

That hanging baby bassinet is too freakin' cute. Makes me wanna get a baby...or a puppy.

those Scandanavians know design! fresh, simple/elegant, ecelectic - i'm always thinking like an anthropologist, but their design describes their culture as well.

I love Emma's blog. :)

And I know, I want white floors, too! I wouldn't hesitate to do it if our floors were pine planks, but they're inlaid oak parquet (the real stuff, not nasty cheap parquet) that's over a century old. There are pine planks in the the back rooms upstairs, though (still unrenovated), so I'll definitely be painting them white when the time comes.

This is SO beautiful. When I imagine our dream home I always picture white, but then I go out and buy everything in crazy colors! I almost feel like white would make me finally feel like a grown-up, you know? (past age 30 and a baby just haven't done it yet) :)

Thank you so much Victoria for this great write-up! I'm very happy to hear that you like my blog and my style, but then it's not too surprising as I really like yours too. :-)
