This is a huge thanks so much to everyone for sending me, and posting photos of your lovely Keep Calm and Carry On posters in your homes. It's so fun and very rewarding to see them all hung so beautifully and being appreciated, all the way from places like Finland, to Singapore, South Africa and Brazil. It's just one big happy, calm world. And it's so nice to see this old WWII reproduction print's message still resonating with us today. ReplyDeletei feel the same way as casey - i've actually been kind of avoiding buying one because EVERYONE has one - everyone of us online design bloggers anyways:) but this has convinced me. I really like the casual look of it framed and proped up along a wall or a desk - i'm sold!

ReplyDeleteThis might be a stupid question...I've been eyeing up these for a while, but in your shop the print seems to cut short really close to the bottom of the word 'ON' (see LadyYing's pic), yet in some people's pictures there's a bigger gap (see iwanteverything's pic). Is this because of the way it's been mounted, or is it different versions?

i was wondering as well if people are buying premade frames or having custom made. i've been running around everywhere trying to find the perfect off the shelf frame/mat combo but haven't quite found it yet.

ReplyDeleteMiss B - I think Camilla just has it tacked up temporarily until she frames it...the frame that works well is Ikea's Ribba frame. The matte needs to be trimmed about a 1/2" top and bottom so the crown and the type don't get cut off, but it fits quite well! :)
Such fun to see the posters in their homes--the photograph from Melanie with the green poster is especially lovely.

ReplyDeleteI REALLY love this print, but is it possible to have/order it printed on off-white paper? I've found that white actually clashes in my home with my antique white walls and darker cream trim. : (

Sorry - I just print on white stock to hold the integrity of the ink color. :)

ReplyDeleteRe: the frame, I used the Ikea Ribba frame, but I still need to trim the mat a bit on the top and bottom, but I love the way it looks in that frame.

thank you Julie, but, yes - it is a Public Domain image, so they are in their right to print it, too.
