How Does Your Garden Grow?

I don't have much of an outdoor space here in the city, but what I do have, I savor. I love every inch of my little terrace, and try and keep it as green as I can. I spend most mornings out there with coffee, and on sunny afternoons I like to bask a bit, and evenings are great for sunsets and watching the city lights come alive. I use it to my full advantage, and with the weather so warm and sunny lately, I gave it a little much needed gardening love this weekend. And, a little 'green' tip for you - I keep a light weight bucket in my shower and while the water is warming up, I collect it all to water the garden...it works quite nicely and I don't waste the cold water.

I LOVE all your potted plants. SF has the best weather for growing.

What a lovely garden you have! I like gardening in my little potted-plant haven as well, but you give me inspiration to make the space prettier!

How wonderful, I like that the plants are raised up on the benches. I hope to do something similar-ish with shelves.

I like a lot your balcony.. is something that I would like to tell you since I have seen it in the book Apartment therapy..
Even if not that big..(it's bigger than mine...)must be wonderful to stay outside, especially in the summer nights..

I am completely blown away by your little garden balcony. I have currently have zero green space & have resorted to my fire escape to house my humble little garden. Your garden has inspired me to keep on keeping on! Thanks for sharing!

I'm so happy to see what a beautiful job you've done with your little outdoor space. You've turned a balcony into a garden! I'm moving to a new balcony-laden apartment in a month and your photos have provided me with a huge amount of inspiration! I can't wait. Thank you Victoria.

I wish I could have a garden like that. It's sooo pretty. I live in Toronto where it's cold pretty much 6-8 mos of the year. In Oct I bring what ever is still alive back into the house and try to make it survive the winter in my basement next to a window. Some do, some don't. It's a good excuse to buy new every year, but you don't get to see your plants grow huge.

What a gorgeous selection of greens, and I love how we speak of your time on your balcony, it sounds really special up there. You are so lucky to live in such a great city. Can you see the water from there?

I really like the bench you have the pots sitting on, I think I'll get me one of those and do the same thing.

I love your bog.

I have a "utility deck" in the back of my SF Victorian and want to do a container garden.

Can you post the names of some of your plants/flowers that seem to do well on your SF terrace?

rosemary

Thank you so much for that list! I'll be checking those out.

Also, as an aside, I'm a dog owner (male shepherd mix mutt) and was sad to learn about Cooper. You gave him a great life.
