Best Friends.

I received a lovely email from Santa Monica, California based photographer Sharon Montrose the other day and when I checked out her link, I was blown away by her beautiful animal photography. I still miss my dear dog Cooper, but I always love seeing happy dogs, whether it be strutting proudly down the street on a happy walk, or in beautiful shots like these. Sharon's photography really captures the endearing charm of our beloved pets. I thought you might like to see them, too!

Sharon Montrose is a commercial photographer and author specializing in dogs, cats, kids, and babies. I laughed at her blog bio: "I am not above reality TV, and I can smell french fries from a mile away. Oh–and I love dogs. I also love Rush, Ben Folds, and my husband." I can tell about the dog part, and can oh-so-relate to the divine aroma of french fries. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us Sharon. For more of Sharon's work check out her blog, and her website.

So funny: it seems like almost all creative people like pets! I was doing this little 'artsy/crafty folks love animals more than average'-experiment on my blog (http://ninainvorm.punt.nl/?id=481488&r=1&tbl_archief=&) and so far, it turns out all my creative readers have or love cats and dogs! So it's kind of cool to see my hypothesis confirmed again here! And those photos are very beautiful...

Oh my gosh. I have always been freaked out by in studio professional dog photos, but these are killing me. That one of the dog in the bathroom is absolutely perfect! I love that the dogs look so quizzical.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person completely obsessed with my dog. Glad to see I'm not alone. Oh, how I wish I had some extra cash to have some professional photos taken of my little love. I think he's a super model. :) Thanks for the pics!

Love, love, love this post. I adore animals and have always wished that I could take pics like that of them.

I foster dogs and would love to have pics like this to really reflect their personalities, it is amazingly helpful when trying to place pups into new homes.

These are fantastic. Sharon Montrose is one of my all time favorite dog photographers (and I see a lot). Her book Carry-Ons: Traveling Chihuahuas is one of the most beautiful dog books out there...

And I'm a Dachshund owner!

I'm a dog lover, but I almost couldn't even focus on the little guys because the settings were so fantastic! That bed with the Queen Anne's Lace wallpaper in the background??? OMG. And I now want my bathroom to look *just* like that one :)

It is funny when you ask the universe for something, you never know where the answer is going to come. I have been wanting to get some pictures taken of my boston terrier, Ruby. And what luck that she is in Santa Monica, and I am less than 40 minutes away. I was reading Rachel's blog (blingonmysewingmachine) and your blog was linked and the first article is of Sharon! Haha I just love how the universe works. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Anywho, thank you for posting this on your blog, and I love everything else you have on your blog. I am delighted to now have another blog to read! Thank you for putting a smile on my face, and ending a great Sunday even better! Cheers!
