Domino Deco Books.

Domino magazine's Editor in Chief Deborah Needleman announced yesterday that they have launched a new web-based application on dominomag.com called My Deco File. I went right on over and checked it out! My Deco File is an easy-to-use, online inspiration board that lets you organize all your decorating ideas and images in one paperless space. This virtual scrapbooking tool allows you to create entire decorating projects online, and not just from images found in Domino magazine. You can upload your own images from the web, scans, or share images with other online scrapbooking My Deco File members. I easily set up my very own (above) in just a few minutes.

I added this image from another scrapbooker's Deco File.
It's always been a favorite image of mine, so it was great to find it online!

I included in My Deco File, this image I love of
photographer Raya Carlisle's beautiful kitchen.

And also included Anna Spiro of Absolutely Beautiful Things'
colorful and gorgeous living room. I love the sisal rug.

And I grabbed this image from my own flickr files,
and added it to My Deco File.

With My Deco File, you can also create your own profile (like the one I created above), save images from the web, your computer or cell phone to your own personal decorating image library, and create albums called Deco Books and organize them by room, color, project, etc. You can also share your Deco Books with friends or embed them in your blog or facebook page, or if you like, keep them totally private. If shared, other users can post comments, ideas and advice on your Deco Books. For more on starting your own fabulous, paperless Deco File, visit Domino online and click on the My Deco Files tab.

Beautiful, sophisticated kitchen added to my inspirational
files from another My Deco Files member's images.

I seriously just started one last week and I already have a gazillion photos. Love it.

Here I was beating myself up because even though my place looks good, it doesn't look like your's SFgirl...now I can console myself with the fact that you have a degree in Interior Design and I don't!

All the stuff is great. Babe Paley had some serious style..and serious money. While I like Babe's style, my role model is Audrey Hepburn - what a woman!

I know why you like those kitchens: no brown grout!
I have the same tiles and grout in mine. I'll have to get a photo to you sometime, so we can comisserate :)
Thanks for the info about this feature.

I have to play with it this week end, the Babe Paley photo is a favourite of mine, too.

I've loved using this and it's been great for our group design project that we're working on - no more emailing images to one another, we can keep them all in one spot! I need to turn it public though so that we can take advantage of some of the social networking pieces of it - and tying it to a facebook page is great!

sfgirlbybay tested and approved? I don't need another selling point! Though this looks like dangerous territory for a procrastinator who could get distracted by a twist tie! This may have been a mistake?

LOVE the profile pic...too cute!

it's pretty darn fun...and addicting! and you can add a little tool to your web browser to click on any photo and add it your image gallery - very handy!

Thanks Uncle Beefy - you are my #1 cheerleader - you rock! :)

Do you know that that picture of Babe Paley's was taken at her house in the Bahamas or Jamaica, (I'm not sure),and it now belongs to Ralph Lauren? You would love what he has done to it, it's a white and blue paradise.
