Suzie Homemaker Me.

I bought this vintage Singer sewing machine a while back at a yard sale, and had yet to sew on it, until this weekend. I bought a pink Toile shower curtain at an Anthropologie sale a week ago or so, because I just couldn't find the bedding I'd hoped to find.

But I thought I could cut it up and make two Euro pillow shams and one long body pillow slip cover from it, and I was right! It was just enough fabric to cover this body pillow I found online at Euro-Linens, and to make the Euro bed shams. Hey, I even did a zipper on the body pillow slip cover....I was kinda impressed with myself, but no one was around to shout at, so I'm bragging to y'all! Here's a glimpse at my little Suzie Homemaker weekend project.

You SHOULD be proud... so very proud! What a fantastic job, and a zipper to boot. I've been waiting patiently to see what sewing project you'd tackle. Phew! I'm way impressed. All three are lovely! Congratulations!

Those are fantastic! I can't wait to get my new machine for christmas! I have a vintage one sitting at my mom's house upstate, but I could never figure out how to thread it! But once I get my new one, I'm gonna get my stitch on!

How big was that body pillow? Is the insert for that relatively easy to find? Looks fab! Thanks.

Anon - I got it here online:

It was about 19" x 49"

You moved the bed back in front of the stained glass!!! I know you like to mix things up, but I think it's just so gorgeous there. And I'm impressed with your handiwork, too!!!

Those pillows look great, awesome work! I've always loved toile but have been "afraid" to use it. I don't know why, I have a paisley ottoman so I'm not scared of patterns!

this is inspriring! how do I make the pincushion? Want to do a batch for friends...

Victoria--
This is soooo pretty! And something you designed and made yourself-- amazing! Everything about your room looks perfect now... esp. the bed in front of those luscious windows. Try and resist the urge to move it all around for just a bit. :-) Enjoy your pretty place! You give so much joy to those of us who pop by to see what you're doin'!
Great weekend to you, girl! --Joan
