Ode to My Deco: Shades of Gray.

Maybe it's just all this rainy weather we're having here in San Francisco, but something's got me thinking about all the hazy shades of gray. I actually love the many hues of gray, and find the color quite soothing and relaxing. Which is why, for yet another installment - I think it's number seven - of my Ode to Domino's My Deco Files, I'm taking a look at all the lovely, warm and cool shades of gray. I'm sorry I can't quit this series, not until Domino takes the darn thing down, and was able to find in My Deco Files tons of gray in all it's glory. From fun, funky chalkboards, to subtle, smooth velvets, I give you gray.

Love these and still SO SAD about Domino going away--was anyone else less-than-impressed with their final issue? I wish they would've gone out with a bang...

I don't usually love a chalkboard wall but I'm really drawn to the one with recipes. House Obsession - great job on that and the entire kitchen!

LOVE the gray's - isn't the mono-chromatic room with that one PUNCH of color so soothing? I'm drawn to it every time. love your blog & etsy shop! I simply must have a poster. the hardest part is choosing a color!

Any chance anyone knows who did the "birds in flight" wall art in the gray bedroom? I've been trying to track down that piece for ages! Anyone know what issue that pic is from? I must find it before Domino disappears...

Thank you for the beautiful gray roundup, perfect February material :)

Thanks all!

Oh, and in general...grey is one of those perfect colors for decorating in my opinion. I've been trying to break out of it in my current house, but it's difficult. It's just such a great color...so soothing.

oh! How I love the idea of the big blackboards. Something to keep in mind for the future when I have little ones ~ but of course it's also fun for us 'big ones' with playful hearts ;)

I really like the melancholic feel of gray rooms. There's something so atmospheric about it, elegant too.

Really inspiring chalkboard uses here. I was going to do a whole wall in cork, but may think about splitting it up now!
