Loft Life Magazine sent me an email with a
link to another amazing lofty design project. According to their portfolio, New York based design firm
Ochs Design was given this assignment a few years back: convert a 2700 sq-ft abandoned warehouse space into an artist's loft for a Williamsburg pioneer.

The design firm certainly accomplished and exceeded this goal with this amazing artist's dream loft in Brooklyn.
Ochs Design intentionally restored as much of the original bones of the space as was feasibly possible for their client, including keeping the original asphalt floor in the painting studio. They also created a beautiful and intimate bedroom area, amidst the contrast of industrial looking exposed beans and used brick. I really, really need to move in here. This is my dream home...I find it dramatic, soothing and so, so inspiring. For more of
Ochs Design work, visit their website, or read more on

I love the rustic bones of this place. And it's nice to see all the plant life inside!
ReplyDeletei wouldn't mind living in a loft. there is so much space that you can work with. not to mention, you can come up with your own layout too.
ReplyDeleteOh my GAWD. Do people actually live in places like that? I know they do. My place in Williamsburg was much smaller and an old railroad tenement flat. But I still liked it.
ReplyDeleteBut this? This is like Cinderella's Palace for hipsters.
Ah! Who needs a home when you have amazing looking lofts like this!
ReplyDeletethis is just outstanding! i love old bricks. sadly you'd have to look pretty hard in la to find ANY bricks and that makes me want them even more.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, and I love the bed, but seriously, an asphalt floor inside? Can that be healthy?
ReplyDeleteThat bed is dreamy
ReplyDeleteIncredible. What a dream studio!
ReplyDeleteWe are adding a second storey to our house in a couple of years, one third of which will be a studio for me. I'd love it to look something like this!
could that bed be dreamier?
ReplyDeleteOh, it is absolutely beautiful! I love the contrast of the walls with the soft and serene feel of that bed! Oh, I just plain love exposed brick!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is beautiful. What a dream space for an artist...the combination home and studio are perfecto...let me dream.
ReplyDeleteto sleep in that bed would be heavenly!
ReplyDeletegorgeous interior.... you really can't go wrong with a brick and timber.
ReplyDeletelovin it. Especially the bed photo!
ReplyDeleteI need to live there as well. Gorgeous.
