A Bit of Kitsch Never Hurt Anybody.

I like decorating with a wee touch of sardonic humor here and there. I just don't like to take myself too seriously, and I think I like reflecting that in my home. So, I was taking a look-see through a good online resource for fun decor, Plaid Pony Vintage's inventory to check their latest kitschy finds. Lo and behold, one of my unexplainable, guilty pleasures (as you can see from my web banner) appeared, a ceramic deer planter. Since I already have one deer in the house (I keep a series of mini photography books in mine), I thought someone else might like to give this lovely homage to Bambi a new home. She even has a sassy, sardonic look in her eyes, don't you think?

I feel a COLLECTION coming on, SFGBB. Can you HAVE too many of your fave woodland animal?

There is apparently a history between my husband and Bambi. When he first saw the Disney original he told his mom he couldn't wait for the sequal. His birthday is coming up; I think a gentle reminder of his love of Bambi might be a nice touch.

I have to say that Bambi tempts me; but for some reason, I appreciate my kitsch even more when I've discovered it in a thrift store or at a flea market for the cost of a latte. Maybe I just like a good story.
