Pop Goes Life.
Pop Life is a really well art directed alternative lifestyle/shelter magazine. An alternative to Martha, an alternative to a lot of more mainstream, conventional shelter magazines. It's a magazine geared to people who don't follow a traditional blueprint when designing and decorating their homes. Whether it's young singletons looking for inexpensive apartment inspiration, new urban couples expanding their their horizons, or first time home buyers, Pop Life offers readers a fresh perspective on home furnishings, DIY projects, and current and upcoming, stylish design and architectural trends. It's for people who enjoy the nice things in life, but aren't closed-minded to the idea that some things worth having don't have to be expensive.

Hey is that a new issue or the one from last year? I subscribed last summer and haven't received one yet. they said they're working on it!
this looks so great! despite my scary magazine obsession, i haven't heard of this one. i'll try to track one down today...thanks for the post! joanna
yep, i also subscribed in july (and paid for it!), but have yet to see an issue in my mailbox. it looks like they haven't published a new one since july.
i'm bummed because i'd really like to read it (i'd take back issues at this point!), but i'd also have to recommend not shelling out for a subscription until they're definitely back up and running. so. darn. frustrating!
i can't believe there is a magazine out there that i don't read!
thanks for the post!
The website says it's Issue #5 and it's on newsstands now. Do y'all have that issue already, or do we think it's new?
sometimes when a magazine is new, and not backed by a big publisher, issues will roll out more slowly (because they don't get a lot of advertising dollars). as circulation increases, so does the regularity of the issues. so if you like it, try and support it and spread the word for the underdog. :)
Any suggestions as to where to pick up a copy? I don't think I'm going to subscribe until issues are mailed regularly but would love to go pickup one in person.
I work across the street from Barnes and Noble. I'm going there now to see if it's there. Your description was so convincing - now I have to have it!
I bought issue #5 sometime last year. It's an amazing magazine but I've lost hope for now.
shoooot! good to know chelsea. since i just stumbled on it, i assumed the issue was current. my bad.
well, hopefully these images are pretty to look at. :)
I too subscribed to PopLife last summer, and have yet to receive an issue. I did, for some reason, get an issue of what I think is the parent magazine, Metro.Pop. It was DREADFUL. Plus it had Christmas shopping tips... and was delivered in February. I sent an email hoping that I hadn't been subscribed to this magazine by mistake instead of PopLife, but never received a response. Needless to say, I'm a bit irritated to have thrown away $15 or whatever it was; at least they don't seem to be taking subscriptions on the site anymore.

sounds like it's 'look, but don't buy' (even if you could). the website has some great images, so perhaps it's just for viewing online only.
sorry guys if i got you excited about something that didn't quite make it. sounds like it went the way of Budget Living. too bad.
I've been trying to track it down since I read your post last week. Yes, I was that excited about it. :p
Found Metro.Pop at several places, and I agree, it was dreadful. Pretty cover, not much else.
Borders in Emeryville is supposed to carry Pop.Life, but they get a grand total of....4 copies, when the magazine suppliers decide to bring them in. And there is no way to pre-order them either.
A nice man at the counter there clued me in to De-Lauers in downtown Oakland though. Couldn't find it when I went in in person but they said we could order it when the manager was there. My bf went in today on a whim and said he was able to order it (!) for me, but given what everyone has said I'm not holding my breath...
I can never seem to find this magazine here in Chicago....it seems to appear at a random shop once a year and then I pick it up.
I like the posts about magazines....I actually just launched a blog about magazines. I havent delved into interiors/home mags yet but hopefully in the coming weeks.
check it out! MAG.NIFICENT!
I also bought a subscription last year and have yet to receive anything. I've emailed several times and they keep telling me I'll get a copy when the next issue comes out...pretty frustrating!
I too subscribed to this magazine last summer and have yet to receive a copy. I have heard absolutely nothing from them and almost forgot about the subscription. Frustrating.
