Yellow Rose of Texas.

One of my regular readers at sfgirlbybay shared some photos of the very groovy 70’s house she and her husband just redecorated. In the very popular these days, sunny yellow! Joslyn's a former Northern California girl now living in Dallas, so I guess she was craving some of that California sunshine yellow. It's also quite appropriate for the move to Texas. I love the original flagstone fireplace and geometric wood paneling. They've also done a fantastic job of picking up on the existing aesthetic of the house and giving it a fresh, modern take on its mid-century modern roots. I love the beautiful hardwood floors, and the alcove they painted yellow really makes a dramatic splash in the dining room. Even the blend of yellow and periwinkle blue in the baby's room blends into the lovely color scheme. Take a look at Texas. Thanks, Joslyn!

Their house looks amazing. They also achieved a great feat - the perfect periwinkle blue. I have failed more than once in that endeavor.

Great house great job. I'd kill for that wood panelling.

We just completely gutted and remodeled our 70's ranch as well. We ripped down all of our panelling, but it wasn't real wood. It was like a black hole, and we craved light. Your "new" home looks fantastic, very cozy.

beautiful job. It's so refreshing to see this sort of creativity done with such aplomb.

Oo, really well done. I like. All that texture and those warm, natural tones- you'd know Joslyn was an sfgirlbybay reader!
