Meet Lotta at Lavish.

One of my personal heroes, Swedish designer Lotta Jansdotter is in town this week. She used to be a home girl, but has moved on to New York City. She's doing a book signing for her really cool DIY book Simple Sewing and previewing her new collection at Lavish Friday night. May 18 from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Cocktails will be served. A fabulous night if design, eye candy and inspiration.

And if you can't make it to Lavish on Friday evening, Lotta will also be at the Maker Faire on Saturday, May 19 at 2pm, at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. She'll be doing book signings and sewing demonstrations (I could use some of that). Nice to have Lotta back in town!

I can't sew a button on a shirt, but am a big buyer of Lotta's work. Her Pricka apron always gets lots of "oohs and aahs" when I wear it to work.

I am going to have to check this out since I am trying to learn to sew.
