Stop by Nathan & Co. on Piedmont Ave. in Oakland sometime. My husband just got home with some lovely gifts he picked up there while on business.

My parents went tp San Francisco this weekend. That is where they did all their "courting" as my mother is from there. I guess it is nostalgia for them.

I love that you think about your readers even while running errands!

You have a great way of photographing ordinary things and showing them in an extraordinary light. Thank you for all the inspiration!

My favorite uncle as a child... You know the kind of uncle that has one of those mustaches that curls really big at the ends and dresses really whacky?? And actually enjoys your girly drawings... Well, he married a woman because he loved how she would dye her poodles in all of those colors. She was a wildly interesting lady. She purposely dyed her hair like the bride of Frankenstein and wore it that big. She looked like the wife from the Munsters. She dyed her sheep and her goats too. My uncle turned out to be the most fab gay man ever. Him and his wife are still best friends. I look to him for interesting advice. It never made sense why he thought she was so fab. In now does... He owns a winery with his lover. She still dyes her poodles pink and blue... funny eh?
