Annie & Eric Open Up.

San Francisco's own Open Studios begin this week, one of the best things about October. There's so much talent to see, and you can search the list of participating artists here by neighborhood, scheduled dates, medium or style. You can also find a list of San Francisco locations carrying the guide to the Open Studios. I'll be heading over to see Annie Galvin's and her husband Eric Rewitzer's new work.

Annie Galvin and Eric Rewitzer's Open Studios -
either their Ocean Beach home, or at 3 Fish Studios.

If you like the SF Open Studios you should check out the ones in Santa Cruz too. That's where my family discovered Tom Killian and we were able to pull our own prints on his press - unsigned, of course but still pretty dang cool (and free).

That's also where we found the Barosifs, brilliant potters from whom I have now accumulated a set of cereal bowls, a set of mugs, a set of serving bowls, and a spoon rest, all as gifts (it's always nice when your family knows your tastes)! They do gorgeous work in many styles but all understated and lovely, and they will do work on commission if you need a big platter or have a particular shape of mug that you would like.

Just had to share some more Open Studios love!
