So Sylvie.

When Sylvie was 12 years old she moved from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, California. Her house was about four blocks from the Goodwill. Sylvie would go there with her trusty red wagon and fill it with vintage treasures piled high. There was a guy working the yard who would give bargain hunters a price after sizing up their load. Her wagon loads never came to more than $2 and from there, she was hooked. Sylvie now runs Blossom Home, a beautiful vintage shop just south of San Francisco, in the charming town of Los Gatos.

Having spent a lot of time in France, hanging around gypsy musicians and circus
performers (hey, some of my ancestors!), Sylvie has developed an eclectic and
artistic eye. Those experiences, as well as growing up in the 60's in San Francisco,
are what influences her home design style and it is perfectly reflected in her super
cool shop, Blossom Home. Her son, Marcel acts as shop DJ and likes to fill the air
with the sounds of 1940's French and Italian music. If your drop by on the right day,
you might also be in for a bit of tea and some design chat. Feels like Europe to me.

I love Sylvie's mix of colors, patterns, textures and even furniture eras - a jumble of
mixed of style that comes out just right. The little vignettes Sylvie has set up in the shop
are charming and full of French flair, ingenuity, and inspiration. It's just So Sylvie.

To read (and see!) more about Sylvie, you can visit her flickr photostream and her blog,
So Sylvie. Or, visit the shop Blossom Home, 633 University Ave. Los Gatos, CA 95032.
You can email her about her interior design services, as well. She was also recently
featured in the May '07 issue of Better Homes & Gardens.

I LOVE the pieces in these photos- especially the green vanity- I wish I lived somewhere even remotely close-by, but in North Carolina I'll have to find my own :)

Well, I know that running a shop and doing interior design work leaves a lot of free time that Sylvie probably doesn't know what to do with so if she's looking for, say, a design charity case to fill up all that extra time with...lemme know! Uh, hello gorgeous! Will have to visit on my next journey to the bay area!

Your timing couldn't be better. I'm meeting my husband in los gatos on Friday for lunch. Guess where I'll be going afterwards? I hope my wallet is ready.
