Fashion Friday: Frocks!

I just love little vintage frocks and skirts. You know, those cute, springy looking prints and fabrics from days gone by that just simply must be called frocks! I just love the fabric design and the prints and colors palettes of them. I'm constantly on the hunt for original vintage finds, as well as vintage-inspired gems, and thought I'd share some I've clipped and collect in my journals to inspire me when I need a boost of fashion inspiration to spice up the old wardrobe.

Some skirts are similar the one your stylish mother wore at that finger picture!

I agree with you, these frocks are amazing. I was recently given a bag of vintage material from my grandmother and am on the look out for a gorgeous pattern to make. Some of these frocks are just the inspiration i needed!

thanks for the links!

i'm glad you found some inspiration here! and i love to know who makes dresses like the vintage ones of yesteryear! it's hard to find ones that fit - their waists were so tiny! or else they wore some killer girdles!

...hey girl...I have that vintage-mexi-inspired skirt in my shop right this second!
I have a ridiculous amount of vintage fabric and I sew new stuff from it.
I'm working on skirts made of vintage fabric right now.....

I love checking out Dorothea's Closet and Senorita Hollywood...they seem to have great luck running into larger size vintage (bigger than a 24" waist!!)
There are small companies such as:
Whirling Turban, Stop Staring, MyBabyJo....
