Surf Style - Part Deux.
Awhile back last summer, I posted about the carefree style that one might call surfer chic...very bohemian modern, sleek and super casual. I though I'd do a remix on that post, one featuring hues of soft seafoam and aqua blues, green, and yellow - the color of fun in the sun. Here's a peek at what I would call surfer chic. Hopefully with the sunnier weather on the way, this gives you a bit of inspiration to put all those warm warm woolies away and get out those flip flops!
A good mix would include lots of sleek mid-century modern natural woods
and rattan, California pottery in fun, pastel colors, and vintage surf genre.

Sources for montage images come from my flickr photo stash: but some good resources for surf style include beach mats from Chinatown; fun Sunburst Click and Xenia Wall Art from Urban Outfitters; Moore Table Lamp In Golden Opal from Room & Board; and Natural Mid Century Modern Sofa from Urban Outfitters.

dude, i'm sure i was a surfer in another life, but not this one ;). so, i'll have to catch this style on the inside! i love your compilation.
I love! It's my absolute favorite style next to Hawaiiana. I should send you a pic of my 4ft tall fabric palm tree.

LOVE this. When we move to Albuquerque (in two months!), this is the sort of style I want to go with. So much lighter and brighter than Mission furniture.
I love this style too. It's so relaxed and easy and this collection is such a great idea board to get started. Nice soft touch too, V.
Love these montages. You have an incredible eye. I relax into my sofa and exhale calmly, and with a smile, when I see images like this.. keep up the good work!
Love this post- I hope the designers/decorators for Hollister Co. are reading this and think about lightening up their surfer beachhouse designs a bit!
Ok, I totally love this style and didn't even know that I did. It's fab!
I have been dying to have a big rustic looking wood dining table with very simple lines like the one you show... I also love the one Amy Butler has in her house that was in one of the pics from a previous post.
AND, I'm dying to have a powder blue Vespa and a powder blue Nissan Figaro to match! I would feel so fabu!
I must (MUST) own that surfer sweater! Please tell me more about it. (Nice blog and nice pics!)
sorry emily - that's just a photo of a vintage sweater from a surfing book called 'Icons - Surfing'.
