Um, You'll Have To Check With My Publisher.

It's out! The new Apartment Therapy book from Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan is, at long last, out in bookstores and available online. Apartment Therapy presents real homes, real people, hundreds of real design solutions is the new book, and I made page 250! I've never been in a book before, and this is pretty fun, I gotta say! Published! My place doesn't look a thing like this anymore, but I don't care, it's a nice layout and I'm thrilled to be a part of this book. It is a fantastic book! Spreads from over forty of AT's best Home Tours, and there are some amazing inspirational places in here. I was really impressed with the book design, the beautiful photography and the amazing and diverse homes featured, and even if I weren't a part of it, I would highly recommend it as a wonderful resource for interior design ideas. Here's a peek at my spreads, and a few of the other homes that I really loved from the book.

love your place, but the rest of the pictures in the book don't do much for me. Same old same old. In fact, I don't visit the Apartment Therapy blog anymore. The vicious criticism people get when they post their rooms/houses really turned me off, and truth be told, some of the posts, particularly from New York, were mean spirited as well. I much prefer your blog, (and others like designsponge, ohjoy, decor8, absolutely beautiful, poppytalk, bloesem,) and visit everyday. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your eye on the world!

thanks so much y'all!

and anon, i do understand your feelings about some of the snarky comments on AT and it is a shame. the writers work hard there to put out great content, and i don't know what goes on, but there's like a group of crabby pants that just get so critical. i was actually one of their victims last week and spoke up in my comments back to them. maybe they will put their homes out there for discussion, or think twice about just being mean for the fun of it.

Congrats, but I think you should have a book of JUST your place and all the different arrangements you've come up with! I think you have enough for an entire sfgirlbybay book just from what you've shared on your blog!

I like AT and admire Maxwell immensely, but seriously, I can't take the way they say "we" all the time in their posts, like they are all one big cult with the same opinion on everything. They have so many amazing contributors with diverse talents, opinions (that we don't get to see as individual) and tastes, and I wish they would show that off instead of being so generic in the comments. It's pet-peeved me over the edge of making it unreadable for me!
