The Mid-Century Modernist.

On the blog, photo by www.reidrolls.com.

I've long been an admirer of fellow flickr member Stewf, aka Stephen Coles. But I don't think I realized he was a fellow blogger as well, until today when I discovered his beautiful blog, The Mid-Century Modernist. Stephen is a a writer and graphic designer living in the San Francisco Bay Area and he administers to some great flickr groups such as the Mid-Century Modern Pool, Typography and Lettering, and Eames, all full of wonderful, inspirational work. And his blog is an abundance of much more of his collection of mid-century modern eye candy. Check out The Mid-Century Modernist and his flickr photostream for more of Stephen's excellent photo finds.

n. - craigslist.com and eBay are great for mid-century modern finds, and thrift & second hand shops in your neighborhood are always great spot to hunt around, too, for unexpected and inexpensive treasures.

Thanks so much for the plug, sfgirl!

n - That shot is of my sister's living room. You can read more about her house here. The table was a lucky second-hand find at a shop in Santa Fe. I love it too and wish there were manufacturers today making something similar. West Elm has a similar leg style going on, but their construction is not high quality and they don't offer this color of wood.

stewf: thanks! i actually saw that info on the post & figured that's where it came from. yah i want something of moderate to high quality wood.

sfgirlbybay: i definitely prowl craigslist almost daily for finds... but haven't done much hunting on ebay. will give it a shot. thanks & love your blog--its a daily read for sure!
