P is for Polaroids.
I got an email from Suzanne Shade of the Beholder, a natural born curator if I ever met one, and the subject was "You'll dig this." She knows me so well, and she was so right! She linked me to Doug Wilson's Vernacular Typography Polaroid set on flickr, and oh, how I do dig it! I love the way Doug has composed these beautiful Polaroids, which he has taken of mostly hand-painted signs over the past four years, all across the United States.
They are truly beautiful and I am excited to share. Doug is a graphic designer, photographer, art director, and university instructor who "does a whole lot of letterpress printing". You can also check out Doug's very cool blog, On Paper Wings. I think you'll discover he has an amazing design aesthetic. Thanks for allowing me to share your wonderful photography, Doug.

Thanks for sharing! I've been on a folk type kick for a while, and I love these polaroids. There's a folk typography group on flickr that I have yet to check out and you might dig the folk type article in volume 1 of Lab.
