Baby Got A New Lens.

Lately, my biggest splurge is camera equipment. I shoot a lot of interiors these days, so last week I rationalized that I really needed a 24mm wide angle lens! I did! It does make a world of difference in the depth of field I can capture, and I had some fun giving it a test drive on my place. Next week, stay tuned for a brand new Unexpected Guests tour of an amazing hilltop home in Mill Valley. You will swoon!

Ive noticed those 2 paintings (in the dining room photo) in other photos of your apartment. Who is the artist?

Thank you!

thank you all so much!

hi kelly - drinks!! :)

colleen - those are both flea market finds and not by the same artist. rico is by charles carrol in 1954, and 'emma' is by emma lou brietag.

This looks like a home with lots of soul! -Though I'm not sure that comes from the camera purchase!!
Im feeling very green eyed of that warm looking sunlight too! (from a cold and wet Aussie winters day!)

Wow Victoria! The wide angle lens made a big difference, and now we can see even more of your lovely home! I love how you have your print, artwork, and clock placed above your bar...it's such a nice use of space.

How lovely is your home! I love the way you're a bit ecclectic, with prints kind of all over ... not in the typical super-organized way. Maybe I'll head to our local flea market tomorrow in hopes of finding something wonderful as you have ...

You have a gorgeous home! I love it! OMG..
and I have a Nikon as well. What model do you have? I have a D40, and I'm adding this lens to my wishlist. Hopefully someone will buy it for me one day. :-)

love your blog and love those pics of your home! what a beautiful space.. is that an ikea swivel chair I spy by the desk? I have to buy a comfortable chair for my study space where I will be spending many hours... question how comfortable do you find that swivel chair.. considering buying something similar, but sense is telling me to buy a more ergonomic, less attractive office type chair. Advise appreciated! Sarah

yes, anon - it it the ikea swivel chair (i forget the name) and i do find it quite comfortable. i'm really bad at being ergonomic, though. i'm always curling up into it and getting cozy! so bad, but i'm comfortable, and i spend a lot of hours there!

Thanks for your answer! think the chair may be going back on the list of possibles! Sarah
