Urban Open House.
This is an interesting new marketing tool from Urban Outfitters. I received an e-promo from them yesterday, along with these photographs of a great apartment, and a petite bio of renter/stylist/art director, Joanna Ewing. Kind of a mini house tour, with her picks of favorite things we can all shop from at Urban Outfitters. I liked her place, so I thought I'd share. Here's a peek. What do you all think of this advertising idea? I didn't mind it, as I'm always the first to be the fly on a wall in any one's apartment - I love to look!

I like the idea...its not so 'in your face'. I like being a voyeur too and peeking into other people's homes.
me gusta mucho tu blog. esta en mis favoritos
I also like the idea ... but was expecting/hoping for more photos of her home. So on that front, it was a bit disappointing.
i like the idea too. especially if it means we can buy that camera from urban. :) i always love a glimpse in someones apartment!
I looooooooooove looking at other's places. Gives me great ideas. I'm drooling over your apartment, sfgirl!
Yes, I only wish the pictures were bigger and there were more!!
Um, can I buy her LEGS at Urban Outfitters too? ;-)
i like it and would love that camera! and, her long legs, ok, i've said it ;).
I like the idea. I think it really helps to see a product in its actual setting vs. in a merchandise display. Great idea Urban Outfitters!
i always love the idea of hooks on the wall, whatever you hang on them creates a new piece of art to enjoy
The concept is nice and contemporary but it could be more charming.
Hmm, I must admit, very smart. I think those marketers realize how people are motivated. Cute hair cut too,
Very cool apartment.
It's very similar living space spotlight Room & Board does on their website, although not as blatant.
Thanks Victoria!
This reminds me of ESPRIT's brilliant ads in the 80's. Does anyone remember their ads and catalogs? That "lifestyle" thing really works!
I love this idea. Not sure why more retailers don't do...We look at mags for the whole "aspirational lifestyle" thing, so the concept makes perfect sense -- especially for Urban Outfitters who can do clothing, furniture and accessories. And I second wig3000 -- where can I set that set of gams?! LOL. ;-)
