Sunday in the City.
It was a crisp Fall Sunday, so I felt compelled to take a nice long walk over to North Beach, San Francisco's Italian-American neighborhood. As always, the breeze in Little Italy held wafts of rich roast coffee, spicy garlic and freshly baked focaccia, all tempting me with every step. I love this compact, cosmopolitan and very European neighborhood with its abundant sidewalk cafes and kitschy coffee bars. Here's a look...

So lovely, and I can almost smell the food and coffee. Yum!
What a fun day! I got to pull weeds in my yard:)
Love, love, love.
Sunday in the city is just the best. I look forward to it every week.
Never been to San Francisco, but this makes me want to plan a trip.
Love these photographs! such a wonderful stroll!
Wow, North Beach has gotten really hip since I lived there.
Beautiful! I spent a lot of time going to bakeries and markets with my little Italian grandma and your photos remind me of how wonderful everything smelled.
thos aprons I saw (are there?) from that linen french divine shop off north beach on stockton. (next to the old school bread shop)
so lovely!
Gorgeous photos--I love the juxtapositions, and they really give you a feeling of North Beach.
Walking around North Beach is such a great way to spend an afternoon in San Francisco - I love your shots. They remind me to get over there more often.
Sometimes we take a little picnic up to Coit Tower and enjoy the view from there. -h
I am an SF girl, but somehow your photos make North Beach look even more lovely. Nicely done!
Marcel loves Golden Boy Pizza!
Thank you everyone, so much!
And I love Marcel, so he should have lots of pizza!!
so is Tony's Italian for sale??!! Reminds me of childhood...loved that hard salami, only in SF! My mom, sister and I all, always agreed that some things tasted better in San Francisco, like this salami and sourdough bread!
