Suzie Homemaker Me.
I bought this vintage Singer sewing machine a while back at a yard sale, and had yet to sew on it, until this weekend. I bought a pink Toile shower curtain at an Anthropologie sale a week ago or so, because I just couldn't find the bedding I'd hoped to find.
But I thought I could cut it up and make two Euro pillow shams and one long body pillow slip cover from it, and I was right! It was just enough fabric to cover this body pillow I found online at Euro-Linens, and to make the Euro bed shams. Hey, I even did a zipper on the body pillow slip cover....I was kinda impressed with myself, but no one was around to shout at, so I'm bragging to y'all! Here's a glimpse at my little Suzie Homemaker weekend project.

well look at you! Suzie Homemaker-ing (?) suits you V. The shams and pillow cover turned out awesome! what a great idea.
i've been aching to get my sewing machine out but just haven't gotten to it still :(
You SHOULD be proud... so very proud! What a fantastic job, and a zipper to boot. I've been waiting patiently to see what sewing project you'd tackle. Phew! I'm way impressed. All three are lovely! Congratulations!
How beautiful! What an accomplishment!! When can we expect your bedding shop to open on Etsy? ; )
thanks so much guys! it was fun to make something on my own!
but believe me...it's not that perfect and you wouldn't want it my etsy shop! ha! :)
How fab! That is such a great idea!
Wow - you rock!! Great idea and outcome. I love how more and more people are sewing, crafting, being creative.
Those are fantastic! I can't wait to get my new machine for christmas! I have a vintage one sitting at my mom's house upstate, but I could never figure out how to thread it! But once I get my new one, I'm gonna get my stitch on!
So very cute & I love the stained glass above your bed.
How big was that body pillow? Is the insert for that relatively easy to find? Looks fab! Thanks.
Anon - I got it here online:
http://stores.ebay.com/Euro-Linens
It was about 19" x 49"
You moved the bed back in front of the stained glass!!! I know you like to mix things up, but I think it's just so gorgeous there. And I'm impressed with your handiwork, too!!!
How brave and amazing are you that you did a zipper in your FIRST project? I can only imagine what you'll be up to by 1-2-3++ months!
marthalena - yup - i moved it back! good eye...and thanks!
woodley - second zipper, but first 'unsupervised'. ;)
totally impressed
thank you miss 10 cent! ;)
Awesome job!
Those turned out great! I'm *so* glad I got the scraps!
Thanks again everyone!
Me, too, Molly! I'll be posting about Molly's great new cooking radio program "I'd Eat That' so, everyone keep a look out!
That room looks so cozy...I could never get out of that bed! How do you do it?

brilliant!
i wish i could sew.
I am in love with the pin cushion.
beautiful! I am so impressed. I am pretty sure me and zippers do not mix when it comes to sewing...
They turned out great! Way to re-purpose something pretty to make it work for you.
Those pillows look great, awesome work! I've always loved toile but have been "afraid" to use it. I don't know why, I have a paisley ottoman so I'm not scared of patterns!
this is inspriring! how do I make the pincushion? Want to do a batch for friends...
Victoria--
This is soooo pretty! And something you designed and made yourself-- amazing! Everything about your room looks perfect now... esp. the bed in front of those luscious windows. Try and resist the urge to move it all around for just a bit. :-) Enjoy your pretty place! You give so much joy to those of us who pop by to see what you're doin'!
Great weekend to you, girl! --Joan
