Friends & Neighbors: Design*Sponge Blogger Gift Guide.

I was honored and so happy to be included in design*sponge's annual Blogger's Wish List. Grace invited some us fellow blogger's to share what we'd like give, and might wish to receive this holiday season, and there were some great responses and most excellent ideas. To review the complete Blogger's Wish List...take a look here.
My choices: To give: spa treatments- it seems as though we’re all rushing about so much and already have so much “stuff”, that the gift of a little r&r seems like a nice idea to treat my friends and family to. It all depends on where they live, but for SF friends, a mani/pedi at Silks is always wonderful, or a spa treatment at Kabuki Springs, or maybe even a yoga class at International Orange is an idea I have up my sleeve.

To receive: I really love the gift of books. and this year, Phaiden is putting out these special ribbon-tied, lovely box sets of their Wallpaper* City Guides. I used my City Guide to Bangkok extensively on my trip to Thailand this year, so now I’ve got a real hankering for the World Cities Art Fairs set, which features Wallpaper*’s City Guides to Basel, London, Miami, New york and Venice. One can dream, right?

My thoughts exactly! Was working on some holiday gift bags for employees at work today, and as we're a green company, we'll be giving mostly services this year: music downloads, massages... with a smidge of chocolate thrown in for good measure. Give the gift of relaxation. ;)

On another note, a couple years ago, I had a holiday white elephant exchange for books. Bring a book (new, used, favorite) wrapped up ... leave with surprise. Was really interesting to see what people picked out.

ooooh, those map books are so cool. It's hard to find a city guide book that you like. I don't know why, but I am picky about them. I'm gonna check these out!
