Lights Of My lIfe.

I was given a very gracious gift by my coworkers and employers when bidding goodbye to the ad world...a lovely George Nelson Bubble Pendent Lamp from DWR. Unfortunately, my ceiling is not rigged for electrical additions, so I had to get the lamp modified with an extended cord for hanging, and an on/off switch. I turned to my usual local electrical repair shop Phil's Electric, but they didn't stock the cord needed, so they sent me to Victor's Lighting.

Vincent at Victor's was an electrical wizard, and so kind and helpful, I just felt compelled to share Victor's with you. Vincent hooked me up with the 25 foot white cord and switches I needed to modify the lamp and he could have done the whole job right there and then, but I'd promised the job to Phil's, who's also great at repair, restoration and updating vintage lamps and chandeliers. Both shops are just what you need should you find an old lamp at the flea market and it's in need of a little lighting up!

I shot a story about a home in palo alto and she said Victor's is amazing. They restored some light fixtures for her. The outcome was great!

Love your light too!

Is that copper around your fireplace? I love it - I have been wanting to do some copper work accests on my stairs - can't find any resources - I am in Portland, OR. I assume copper is not cheap.
Thanks - BTW I love you blog.

looks amazing!

I have an old 60's pendant lamp that I've been trying to hang up for ages, but all the cords available in home improvement stores dont fit the bulb opening on the lamp! Gonna have to find an equally amazing electrician here in Chicago.

Hi. I love reading your blog and I LOVE the ceiling lamp. Can you provide some tips on how you hung/attached the cord to the ceiling? I'd like to do something similar with a vintage Nelson bubble, also on a cord that I recently scored at a thrift shop, and I remembered yours. Not sure how to attach a cord (without the chain). Thanks. Happy Hanukkah, Xmas and New Years!
