Lofty Ambitions.

I very often crave the clean, sleek lines and sparsity of living in a loft. I know, that may not seem like vintage junkie me, but I do have a side that admires that sophisticated style and think I'd like the challenge of decorating in a large space with virtually no walls and very little boundaries.

Loft Life Magazine sent me these incredible images of this stylish loft, owned by an undisclosed British designer, and I instantly got that feeling that I too, could live like this (no really, I could, just give me this space and let me go to town!). This converted London warehouse loft space is currently being offered as a backdrop for the film and photography industry through Beach Studios, and features original elements, including the steel sliding doors and wooden columns. Just lovely, and yes, lofty!

i love the look of lofts too, particularly placed within a hectic, urban setting. i was almost going to acquire a loft, but it was right next to the train tracks. so despite the handsome look of the place, the overwhelming loudness of the train and horns was way to much.

oh, and i'd miss having a yard :) but sigh, i'm still planning on leasing a loft as an office or studio. i just love the look and space.

I'm totally with you on this ... even though I'm not someone who is typically drawn to the kind of furnishings and designs that are used in loft spaces I really do love something about the open space and clean, modern decor. I often find myself looking at photos of loft designs (like those in your post here are those on other sites like http://www.houzz.com/photos/query/loft) and I'm always inspired by the design. I think the solution for me would to be in the position of being able to have a loft space for work and somewhere cozy for home. Or perhaps a loft home in the city during the year and a more "country" home somewhere in the summer.

I've dreamt of living in a loft since I could spell loft and have never thought of them as cold or cavernous. I've always found them to be quite homey. Unfortunately finding a good one, that's afforadable and in a good location is a challenge. This one's beautiful and warm. Perfect!

This is not cold or cavernous but gives you space to present your nice photos or if you want: mine!

I love the calm cool colors of the place and the zen like airyness of the compositions in each room. Perfect balance between the architecture and the furniture.
