This One Time At Arts & Craft Camp.

If you are looking for an experience that will provide you with the time, space, and inspiration to recharge your creative spirit, this retreat might be just the ticket. Squam Art Workshops are specialized weekend arts retreats, located in an ideal setting for a juicing up your creative inspiration with like-minded friends, nestled among the woods of New Hampshire at Squam Lake. You may have heard about it before, as last year Grace at design*sponge was one of their guest speakers. This year, there are a whole range of arts & crafts classes to choose from that include: painting, printmaking, journaling, doll making, writing, knitting, sewing, photography, crochet, sculpture, felting and some classes that combine several of those elements into one workshop.

It's like one big sleepover and camp experience, but for grown ups who love to craft and learn new techniques. This year Squam Workshops have expanded their offerings and are hosting two sessions. In June, they will have a focus on textiles with classes that include repurposing fabrics, sewing, knitting, felting and printing on fabrics. September will have a focus on visual arts and writing. They have an amazing line-up of teachers that include: Derek & Lauren of The Curiosity Shoppe, Andrea Jenkins - aka Hula Seventy, Marisa Haedike of Creative Thursday, among loads of other talented teachers. And, they will be having an evening with Amanda Blake Soule of Soule Mama, on Friday night in June, as well as a screening of the film 'Who Does She Think She Is?' at both sessions, and many other fun events.

In addition to all the classes, the beautiful region surrounding Squam Lake offers a host of activities including swimming, hiking, and boating. There are also numerous antique shops, second-hand stores, and general stores, as well as restaurants and picturesque towns, to explore. For more about this amazing retreat, check out the Squam Art Workshops website, classes and registration. Registration is open now - a camping we will go!!
