Launched!

Apartment Therapy San Francisco officially launched last night at a party at Propeller, and an absolutely great time was had by all. As for a recap, I started out the evening with my pal Suzanne of The Beholder fame with a pre-party drink at a local cafe, Suppenküche. It's a neighborhood place on Hayes Street with hearty, homemade German food, and and a wide range of beers on tap. Its friendly, family style ambiance is cozy and very cool...try and check it out sometime.

We then strolled a few doors down Hayes to Propeller, who graciously hosted the Apartment Therapy San Francisco Launch soiree. It was the perfect atmosphere for an AT gathering. Lots of eye candy and beautiful objects just begging to be bought.

It was almost surreal, but so much fun to meet all of the AT community face to face. It was a bit like one giant blind-date! Happily everyone was enthusiastic and lovely.

And NY Editor/Co-Founder Maxwell's talk was, for me and I'm sure everyone in attendance, really inspiring and heartfelt. I was excited to hear that he started out ATNY as a way to help friends find their unique personality in their homes and discover their own tastes, much like what I had in mind when I started sfgirlbybay. Mostly I think the evening just held a great sense of community. Some of the regular AT posters were there: wende in san francisco, Amy , aquarabbit , eBrown, Todd of Todd & Nicole's Project Precita amazing House Tour (if you haven't seen it yet, check it out!) and so many more. And of course, Apartment Therapy San Francisco fearless editors, Leslie and Lisa. Thanks for the opportunity to meet the AT community and a really great party, guys!

It sounds like you had a great time; I'm annoyed that I had to miss it. Nice shot of you with Maxwell (don't know about that beard...), he must have been fun to chat with. Meeting all of the regular SF posters had to have been entertaining as well; a talented and opinionated lot!

It was super fun, and Maxwell couldn't have been a nicer guy. It's not really as much a beard, more of a long after five shadow - he's really quite lovely. And it was great to meet the AT gang - a fun group of people.

Hi! I've just linked to your blog after swooning over your craigslist finds. I, too, have been checking out Lisa and Leslie's "Scavenger" which is fast becoming an addiction: two red Eames bentplu chairs and two perf cd holders. Too cool! Anyway the party was great fun and worth the BART trip back and forth to the East Bay/
