Principles of Uncertainty.

Maira Kalman is one of my all time favorite artists. I love her quirky illustrations and sweet studies and reflections on life. Lori over at Inspiration Boards was lucky enough to get an interview with Maira and will be sharing the interview with her sometime this week. I am so envious of her opportunity, and so excited at the same time! Bravo Lori, I can't wait to read it.

Maira's book, The Principles of Uncertainty is one of my favorites, and I wanted to share a few pages from it. She had also been doing an amazing monthly blog for the New York Times of her paintings and hand lettered text from the book, and you can find the archived blog here.

If you don't yet know of Maira Kalman, she is an illustrator, author and designer whose artwork was featured in a new edition of Strunk and White’s, The Elements of Style, and has loads of children’s books including Stay Up Late, and you'll probably recognize Maira Kalman from her numerous New Yorker covers, as well as her wonderful collaborations with her late husband, Tibor. Look for Lori's interview this week to discover more of the wondrous Maira.

thanks for telling us! I love Kalman's work, too. I saw an online video of a presentation she did - she spoke about finding Elements of Style at a yard sale and getting excited, wanting to illustrate it, because "everybody should know about this book!"
