Ikea In My Home.

There's a wonderfully useful flickr group entitled Ikea In My Home. I went perusing the group looking for the best of the best, and found some pretty great ideas and inspiration there. I can't say I'd want my entire place full of Ikea furnishings, but they definitely provide a pretty good quality product at affordable prices, and their pieces mix well for a great vintage modern look, with a nice hint of clean, Scandinavian style. I like their lighting, accessories and frames (oh, how I love my Ribbas!) and have found more than one organizational and super functional piece worth raving about. I love my Lack shelf (I put mine on it's side and added some wheels, below) and I'm also a big fan of the Expedit shelving. Here's a bit of the flickr group pix that offer up some great examples of mixing up your own unique pieces with Ikea functionality.

Fira Mini Chests updated with scrap paper & a glue stick, from rnjetta.

Billy Bookcases enhanced with crown molding & made to look built-in, from Chez Larsson.

Docksta Dining Table, from me (the old dining room).

I didn't know so many cool people gave Ikea their stamp of approval. It's a relief. I used to be a closet Ikea lover, but now I can come out!

I love how creative everyone is! I have quite a bit of Ikea furniture that I love, but I'm always looking for ways to personalize it a bit more. This Flickr group and the Ikea Hacker blog will keep me inspired.

All very cool! I like to go to ikea to see how I can use their every day items in a different way than intended, even if it's in the slightest way, and those billy bookcases with the crown molding look great!
