Corners of My { Ever Changing } Home.

You know how I am. Always changing things up around my apartment. I don't think y'all have seen some of the latest things I've done to the place, so before I go changing it again, here's a peek of some corners of my home, and some of my favorite things. Because I do feel another color scheme and some various decorating revamps coming! It's true, I just can't stop myself.

My new desk and chair from West Elm;
and one of my favorites, cherry blossoms this time of year.

Desk accessories and stacks of clipping ideas and Rex Ray Journal.

Vintage tea set from Three Potato Four. Some of my favorite art books.

Prints from Betsy Walton; Green Chair Press and 'Merde' painting from Annie Galvin.

New bedroom set-up; and some of my fancy shoes with Keep Calm poster.

My bed and pillow I made from vintage fabric.

Some new (and some old) artwork.

Print from Alyson Fox, and one from Camilla Engman, via Reform School.

A favorite oil painting I bought in Venice, Italy; my morning latte & favorite Eames Rocker.

The balcony and some new plantings.

Vintage ceramic Geisha girl from Venice, Italy; some of my vintage linens.

Stacks of blankets for chilly nights; my bedside table collections.

The dining table in the bay window; more of my vintage linens.

Pink lamp from West Elm with vase from Small Stump;
and Eames Rocker from Velocity Art & Design.

On a side note: sorry for the lack of Room Redux posts - I am struggling with my photoshop skills and I just can't bring myself to post some of my inept little works of art. I hope to have it up and running in the near future.

I really love the Parsons Desk from West Elm -- been coveting one of my own, but I'm going to see if I can get one on the cheap.

Love the place, Victoria. But that's probably no great surprise. It's so stylish but not "stagey", y'know. Warm, comfortable, relaxed, but polished. Yes, a bit envious...as my home, currently, would be largely photographed for use in a Housing Department training manual to show representatives what to look for when condemning a place!

Did I wish you and uber-GINORMOUS "CONGRATULATIONS!" on your Sunset spread? Well, if not...slapped hand for me...and belated "Awesome!" to you. :)

Love the alarm clock!

yes, I too am contemplating the parsons desk as my dressing/makeup table. Colorful and inspiring, as always.

I love it! I really like your style: you, your house and your blog are truly an inspiration and a source of ideas.
I have a question (something I am struggling with myself): where do you store all your files and paperwork? They're not visible (at least in the pictures you posted) and I am always looking for storage ideas, especially for paperwork, which is my biggest clutter problem.
Thanks!

thanks so much everyone - and yes UB you were very kind in your comments about the Sunset spread - thank you!

the west elm desk is great - i love it and it seems really well made. the drawers just glide open!

luisa - i keep them in various places - i have an Ikea Expedit storage unit in my bedroom with file bins where i store clippings, paperwork etc. i also use design journals where i cut and paste all my clippngs and keep them.

Hi V.
I've never seen that pink lamp from West Elm and I stop in their store all the time looking for new things. did you have to buy the pink lamp shade separately from somewhere else? I'd love to introduce some pink into my bedroom and that lamp would be lovely. thanks!

sfgirlbybay said...

Blue - I actually bought it from someone on craigslist, so I think it's an older piece of theirs.

I love all the white. I wish I could do more white accents, but with all the children living here, white goes to snot green (a color that I've learned to love) in a matter of seconds. Someday though...
Really lovely abode;)

Beautiful as always! I'm glad to see you still have the pink wall (love it!) and I'm glad that you post closeups of your wall of art.
Very inspirational - I may need to change things up in my apartment soon.

Beautiful and inspiring. You have such an easy style--it's very much your own. (I've had my eye on the desk chair from West Elm. Is your's the leather version? Is it comfortable?)
Thanks for all you share with us.

Hi!

I have a Keep Calm poster myself, and was wondering if yours are custom framed? If not where did you pick up the frames that totally fit the poster!?

Thanks!

Anon - it's just the Ribba frame from Ikea. But I need to trim the matte at top & bottom to fit even better.
