Friends & Neighbors: AphroChic.

My fellow bay area blogger, Jeanine Hays of AphroChic, has relaunched her blog with a cool new layout and banner. Modern, soulful design, indeed. Jeanine has a post up that I am loving on African Chic furnishings, highlighting the gorgeous work of photographer Katya de Grunwald (which Jeanine found via Desire to Inspire - it's always six degrees of separation!). I love this lamp shade so much, I'd like to wear it on my head!! Check out these pics, and then go take a look in person over at AphroChic. Nice new look, Jeanine!

i've been getting into afro-chic lately as well, and have found myself browsing through the african decor and jewelry stands at the berkeley and alameda flea markets. they're all gorgeous. i'd love to have a wall full of masks alone :)

Love this. Good to see African style getting a look-in too.

Thank you so much Victoria! I have been away for the past week, but was so happy to see this post when I arrived back home yesterday. It is so wonderful to get support from a fellow Bay Area blogger. Thank you, and keep up the wonderful blogging!

Being a South African, I sometimes find African decor a bit overdone or just the same old thing, so it's really refreshing to see some original pieces. I like!
