The Renegade Craft Fair hits Brooklyn, NY, on June 6 + 7. The fifth annual event will take place from 11am - 7pm in McCarren Park. Over 300 artists are traveling from all over the country and abroad to participate and sell their handmade goods: from clothing and accessories, to stationery and concert posters, with everything from bath products and ceramics in between. The outdoor fair is free to the public!
Annie Galvin has done it again, and has painted an entire series of another California icon - this time the flag of our great state of California. These paintings will make their debut at Studio 3579 on Saturday, June 6th, with an opening slated for 6 - 9pm. Light refreshments will be served.
MudFire Gallery will showcase the work of the Bay Area Pottery Posse, a group of of eight talented women potters of the San Francisco Bay area. This gallery show is curated by Diana Fayt, and presents new works from artists Christa Assad, Whitney Smith, Sara Paloma, Rae Dunn, Josie Jurczenia, Sara Kagan and Diana Fayt. The exhibit opens June 6, 2009 with a reception from 5 - 9pm, and continues through July 3, 2009.
The Southern Exposure Auction is always a great evening of interesting art, people, food and open bar with amazing (and affordable!) art by the most talented folks around. This year Pop Noir is being held at Electric Works, June 6 with the Preview Event from 6-7:30pm, and the Main Event from 7:30 - 10:30pm. I have noticed a lot of cars with new bumper stickers this week that say EARTH with the ART part in red. Does that have to do with this weekend too?
