Time to Tivo Top Design.

I am so excited about Bravo's Top Design that I called up and ordered cable. I haven't watched TV in months (who has time?) but I felt that I would be just missing out on too much. Top Design begins this Wednesday night and I can't wait. There will so much to talk about once we discover who the good guys are and then who's just plain evil. There's always one in the bunch. If we loved Project Runway, just think how obsessed we'll be with a show that relates directly to our love of interior design. People, we're doomed to addiction.

I'm already a huge fan of the charming Todd Oldham, our weekly host. And I'm quite fond of the panel of judges, too: I just finished producing a shoot with Kelly Wearstler for Condé Nast which turned out great; I'm not sure who doesn't love Jonathan Adler; and I adore Elle Decor so I'm curious to hear more from Editor-in-Chief, Margaret Russell. It's a pretty impressive line-up.

Check Bravo's schedule in your neck of the woods and we should gather back here to chat about the show. Top Design is bound to be good TV. Let's hope they 'make it work'.

Top Design is on at 10:00 pm Pacific time, after the top chef finale. (Marcel?) My partner hates reality shows, but what comes first disign or relationship? :)

It's not on until 11pm here, so I'm trying really hard to stay awake...I'll never make it to the chat, though. :)

ok, so tell the world: what did you think?

I don't know about you guys, but I was pretty underwhelmed. I love Todd, but he needs some lessons from Tim Gunn.

And I hope the designers get more creative than this, or it'll be a big snore.

What did y'all think?

I agree. Actually, I was almost embarassed for Todd Oldham when he first began to speak. It was way too scripted and unnatural.

I agree with Anonymous. As I wrote at Decor8 the Adler vases at every turn bugged the crap out of me. I love Jonathon Adler but I don't think I'll ever look at a vase the same way. I hope they are able to iron out the kinks in the show. Tim Gunn is one of a kind...I guess there is a reason he is so special.

Let's hope for improvement!

Todd Oldham was on Martha Stewart this morning. He was great. Perhaps he'll get better as the season progresses...
