Sweet Dreams.

I am one tired puppy today, kids, so please excuse the lack of posts. Work was just nutty-crazy. So I'm leaving you tonight with thoughts of Amelie. I love, love, love this film and if I'm lucky enough when I finally get to sleep tonight, I will dream dreams like Amelie. If you haven't seen this film you really must. It's one of the most inspiring and beautiful films I've ever seen. Just look at her amazing red bedroom and the wonderful portraits above her bed. Even her haircut is adorable. And don't even get me started on the gnomes. Don't ask, just go watch.

Photo thanks to doc18.

Oh I also love that film and most French films. I never understand why their TV is so bad.

that's so interesting that you really looked at it through a design eye....i saw this movie before i got interested in art/design but i'm going to watch it again -- i'm sure i'll notice so many more things (like the portraits above her bed) than i did before!
thanks for the post --

I was so head-over-heels for this movie when it came out! I already had the bobbed hair, but I added the bangs shortly thereafter lol.

The artist of those paintings, btw, is named Michael Sowa.

just thinking about this movie makes me smile. glad you liked to.

and thanks to kirstin and nikki for identifying artist Michael Sowa. they remind me a littl of the Wary Meyers pet portraits.

Fantastic movie indeed. That bedroom is the design inspiration for many.

my wonderful husband introduced me to this film and it was instant love...I recommend this movie to everyone...the best word I have for it is that it is simply delightful! The colors used throughout are fantastic.
