Hoop-La!
I was lucky enough to find this amazing young British artist, Claire Platt's work through design*sponge, via poppytalk, who discovered it via crunch candy's flickr site. Whew, it's so cool how the art goes round! And it's no wonder, because this uniquely feminine and unusual embroidery work by Claire is not only pretty, it's also displayed in a cool creative and natural way - within the embroidery hoop itself. I think we could be seeing much more of Claire's provocative and beautiful work.

With respect, the subject matter creeps me out too much for me to appreciate the fine handiwork.

I never would have thought to embroider a uterus but I really like that one - and the others too! Very cool.

And I found this post via something that tells me which of my flickr photos are being used on people's blogs! Small small world eh? Claire's going to be showing her work as part of an exhibition in Bristol in November- keep'em peeled!
