Weekend Finds: 8mm Ideas.

Meet 8mm Ideas. I love these individual handmade cards, each one its very own amazing work of collage art. San Francisco-based artist Molly Meng describes her note cards as little works of historical fiction. She makes them from boxes of ephemera, old photographs and pages ripped from vintage books found at estate sales and flea markets, and finds inspiration for 8mm Ideas from her love of the weird and the wonderful.

Molly's cards tell little stories, but she leaves the insides blank, encouraging and hopefully rekindling the card senders' passion for the long, lost art of letter writing. Molly doesn't think sending cards requires any special occasion and her cards inspire us to just let our friends and families know they were on our minds.

Molly's home and studio were recently featured in an Apartment Therapy House Tour by
Ahn Minh and I must say, her home is filled with as much inspiration as I find her cards. Her home is unique, and a wonderful representation of Molly's personal style, created in an incredibly beautiful color palette. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Molly has an upcoming show of her work, A Certain Destiny coming up on February 7th at the Candy Store, and you can find out where to buy her wonderful cards here.
