Room Redux: Nina's Favorite Dining Room.

Nina van de Goor of the Netherlands sent over this gorgeous dining room and asked me to run it through my new Room Redux. This is one of Nina's favorite dining rooms ever, so I hope I'm up to the challenge! Here's what I came up with to recreate Nina's favorite dining room with some affordable pieces.

These shapely Jake Dining Chairs from Room & Board do a nice job of recreating the walnut chairs above ($79 ea); the sleek white lacquered CB2 Skew Dining Table will compliment the dark walnut chairs ($449); this is a gorgeous (and expensive) multi-colored crystal chandelier, but the Not Too Shabby's Stella Chandelier is a pretty knock-off and quite affordable ($318). Should you not have nice built-in book cases like these, the Ikea Billy Bookcase system is a good substitute ($119) to fill with your collectibles. Perhaps some pretty yellow latte bowls from Urban Outfitters ($6), some Forest Feast Plates ($9.99 ea), a black & white Porcelain Bowl with Peonies and Cherry Blossoms from kristenkswanson's etsy shop ($85), and a vintage Yellow Owl Planter from fruitflypie's etsy shop ($14) will brighten up these shelves quite nicely. A vintage Door from Ohmega Salvage ($100) finishes off the look and gives an interesting and rough contrast to the more flashy chandelier.

Thanks for sending this in Nina - it was a blast to work on. I hope y'all will send in more submissions to challenge me - just label them 'REDUX' and I will get right to work on them to share on Room Redux every Monday!

Love this feature, too! It's nice to see how the rooms are interpreted affordably with the bonus of the links to purchase the items.

It's great Victoria, you really captured the color scheme and style very well. I also like the chairs and their very reasonable price. The original chairs on the picture are undefeatable of course, but I guess they're very hard to find, especially for a redux price... ;)
The vintage blue door is also very pretty! Thanks for doing a great job...

Hey Victoria,

you did it. Good job. I like your door a lot, like the chandelier better then the original, like your chairs better then the original because of the chrome legs, love the yellow ceramic owl, and the IKEA white shelving. I just love the total results :)
AWESOME !
