Flea Market Find: DIY.

Before, and After.

I hit the Alemany Flea Market yesterday and it was hopping! This flea market is a little hit and miss, but yesterday was full of shoppers and some super great finds! I found this little end table, one I have been searching out for some time now, for just $35. I took her home, washed her down and gave her a fresh coat of white paint. I quite like the outcome, and it nestles in next to my sofa just perfectly!

Before.

And, After.

Hi! I love your blog and all the pics of your home that you have shared with us. This post spurred me to ask a question I've been wondering about off and on for awhile, as I live in a condo too -- where do you do the work that you do on the furniture? Where do you paint? Do you just put a tarp down on your living room floor and go to it?

Thanks!

What kind of paint did you use?

I bought a lucite (maybe plastic) end table with glass...I don't know if it was part of an outdoor patio set or what...but I love it!

this is way too cute!

lisamarie - it's a great feeling! :)

la.mi - go, no matter what it's great people watching.

anon - i used a semigloss, but with plastic you might need spray paint. perhaps ask your favorite hardware shop.

It's great when patience pays off & you come across a great find with potential. That's the best part of going to flea markets regularly. Great end table:)

What a unique piece! The airy feeling of the table is really nice, along with its pretty curves. The thrill of the treasure hunt is one of the best parts too :)

I like the table too, but sort I like the worn in 'before' look better. It has slightly more character.. but then, I am a new reader, and don't know how it looks with the rest of your stuff.
Good bargain find anyway.

The fun thing about flea markets, antique malls, etc., is the thrill of the chase and the thrill of the find.
