A Year of Mornings.

On the morning of December 7, 2006, Maria Alexandra Vettese and Stephanie Congdon Barnes each took a digital photo of everyday objects randomly arranged on their kitchen tables and, unbeknownst to one another, uploaded them to the website Flickr. Noticing a remarkable similarity between their images, they agreed to document their mornings by posting one photo to a shared blog every weekday for a year. Their inspiring site, 3191 (the number of miles the two live apart) is one of my favorites.

Stephanie Congdon Barnes and her photographic other half, Maria Alexandra Vettese will be on Martha Stewart Living, tomorrow - Wednesday at 1 pm PST. Martha will interview Stephanie and Maria about their new book published by Princeton Architectural Press and released this coming month, A Year of Mornings, a book that I think I will find inspiring to me and my insane passion for diptychs. Be sure to tune in to Martha, or set your Tivo. And, congratulations to Maria and Stephanie on praise well deserved. I can't wait to get this book!

The power of Flickr is amazing :) What a great project -- a total testament to how we all do get up the same way each morning and put on our pants (or skirts) the same way!
